Why Should I Have a Transcript Created For My Video?
A step that even professional video producers often miss is the option that YouTube and some other site offer for you to upload an exact transcript for your videos. You should – I might even say you must – create a transcript for every video you put online.
The automatic transcription has problems for several reasons. First, despite the power of computers, they still have a hard time understanding the way every person says every word: especially if their are odd industry terms of names that it doesn’t know, or if you don’t clearly annunciate between words. Also, does your video have a music bed or soundtrack? This may muddle the clarity of the speaking voice in the video and make the transcription nearly impossible. Or if the music has lyrics, do you really want the lyrics transcribed as part of the video?
